WHAT IS SCAR TISSUE MASSAGE THERAPY?
Scar Tissue Massage Therapy is a pain-free, natural method where very gentle techniques are used by applying the fingertips around the scar & massaging to help free the adhesions that can restrict movement.
Motions are slow and light. It is a way of softening & smoothing out the scar both on and below the surface. No force is involved, and the treatment is always within your tolerance range.
WHY IT IS IMPORTANT TO GET MASSAGE THERAPY FOR YOUR SCAR?
Think of an iceberg: What we can see on the surface is just the beginning compared to what is unseen below and beyond, and what we perceive to be the boundary of the scar.
Scars can have a negative effect on the nerves, fascia, lymph and muscles, and symptoms can persist long term. Therefore, Scar Tissue Massage Therapy can help in the following areas:
- Improve the physical appearance, such as texture & colour
- Help overcome emotional self esteem associated with scars
- Decrease pain associated with the scar
- Smooth the surface of the scar
- Help ease hypersensitivity, burning and itching
- Ease the discomfort / restriction in that area
- Increase blood flow and lymphatic flow
- Increase joint movement
Although the surface area of the scar does improve in colour and texture – sometimes dramatically – the more positive outcomes have often been internal improvements and increased movement in the area.

HOW SOON SHOULD I RECEIVE TREATMENT TO MY SCAR?
You can start Scar Tissue Massage Therapy from as early as 6 to 8 weeks after your surgery or injury has occurred.
The scar needs to be fully healed over so as not to get any infection and the time for this will vary depending on the individual. Some people will heal quicker than others, for many different reasons.
Some scars, such as from open heart surgery, will need a much longer time before any treatment can commence, as the bone needs time to heal as well.
Old scars can really benefit from Scar Tissue Massage Therapy. A scar you received as a child that was left untreated, can be improved with the correct treatment many years later.
There is no time limit as to when you can start treating a scar. It’s never too late, as they say.

I had my 62cm post-surgical scar treated by Sue from Simply Natural Massage Therapy.
Everyone with a scar small or large, old or new needs to consider this treatment.
From the first painless massage treatment the appearance changed. It became lighter, less raised and pain was reduced. The scar massage is gentle but oh so effective.
After the first treatment I felt like significant congestion had been relieved and felt an increase in my general well-being. After 5 treatments I now have a scar that people actually admire for its appearance!
My scar moves like normal skin does. Sensation to the area has increased.
The deeper scar massage into the underlying repaired muscles has meant I now have full range of movement back which I was told not to expect by the surgeon.
Please consider Scar Tissue Massage. It is recovery changing. I cannot thank Sue and her team enough for what has been achieved quickly and painlessly.
ANNA
I have a lot more feeling back around the scar on my leg where I had a skin cancer removed.
The appearance has improved greatly! The scar is almost invisible.
Almost all the “bumpy bits)” were gone after just 1 treatment and even the stubborn bits continued to improve.
JANE
Before having my first scar tissue treatment on my repeat C section scar I was waking up throughout the night with lower back pain.
During the treatment I could feel the scar loosening. The next day I woke up after managing to sleep through the night and get up without pain.
It was amazing. I was surprised to find that the scar was related to my back pain.
I would definitely recommend Scar Tissue treatment by Bronny.
AMANDA
Bronny – I wanted to tell you how happy I am with the scar massages you have done on my leg.
After just two scar massage treatments I could feel a noticeable difference in my scar. It felt much softer and less lumpy. It has also changed in appearance.
You made me feel very comfortable and it was a very gentle and painless treatment. I am so pleased with the results. The skin around the scar is much less sensitive and the appearance of the scar has improved too!
Before the first treatment. The scar felt tight, and was really dented in my leg as well as being darkly coloured.
After 2 minute treatments the scar felt flatter, softer, smoother and less pulled in.
Thank you so much!
